The artist

Andrew is a fine art landscape artist who uses a camera to create luxury pieces at a range of sizes from 10×8 inches to 60×20 inches and above. He is motivated by the great landscape painters and indeed the most common comment heard when people enter his Devon Gallery is confusion over whether the work is a photograph or a painting. This style has become the hallmark of Andrew’s work and is all the more surprising perhaps due to the distinctive look of his images being created using only traditional darkroom techniques or their modern digital equivalents. He uses a mixture of cameras from a modern digital SLR through dedicated medium format digital tools while at the same time still shooting a lot of traditional film using 6×17 cm and 4×5 inch place cameras depending on the result he is looking for.
